LGBTQIA+ Mental Health Therapy FAQs

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes. We offer both in-person and virtual therapy options, if appropriate depending on the child’s age.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Your privacy and confidentiality are extremely important to us. Therapy sessions are confidential within the limits required by law and professional ethics. Your therapist will review confidentiality policies with you during the intake process.

What information do I need to start?

Our Care Coordination team will need some basic demographic information from you (name, address, phone number, etc). If you plan to utilize insurance, they will also need that information. For a list of insurances currently accepted please click here.

Are our clinician's affirming?

Yes. Our staff will respect your identity and pronouns while creating a safe, inclusive environment that supports your personal goals without bias.

What if I’m unsure about my identity?

That is completely okay. Therapy can provide a safe, supportive space to process thoughts, feelings, questions, and experiences at your own pace without pressure or judgment.

What if I don't feel progress?

It’s common to wonder whether therapy is working, especially if progress feels slow or unclear.

Therapy is not always a straight path. Some changes are gradual and may not be immediately noticeable from week to week. Progress can also look different for everyone, it might show up as small shifts in how you think, cope, or respond to stress, even if your situation hasn’t fully changed yet.

If you feel stuck or unsure, it’s important to bring this up in session. Therapy works best when it’s collaborative, and your feedback helps guide the direction of treatment.

Together, you and your therapist can revisit your goals, explore what’s working (and what isn’t), and adjust the approach if needed.

You should never feel like you’re doing therapy alone, checking in on progress is a normal and important part of the process.

Get started today. We are excited to meet you.
