Psychotherapy Therapy for Growth, Healing, and Everyday Well-Being

Psychotherapy provides a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences with a trained mental health professional. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply want to improve your emotional well-being, therapy can help you gain insight, develop healthier coping strategies, and move forward with greater confidence.

You may benefit from psychotherapy if you're experiencing:

  • Ongoing stress, anxiety, or sadness
  • Difficulty coping with daily life or relationships
  • Emotional overwhelm, mood changes, or feeling stuck
  • Sleep, energy, or motivation challenges
  • A major life transition, loss, or stressful experience
  • Unhealthy coping patterns or difficulty managing emotions

Frequently Asked Questions About Psychotherapy

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes. We offer both in-person and virtual therapy options.

How long does it take therapy to work?

The duration of therapy needed for effectiveness varies greatly, depending on individual goals, the issues being addressed, and session frequency. It's important to understand that therapy is a gradual journey, not a quick fix. Consistent sessions, self-reflection, and practice outside of therapy are key to building progress over time.

How long is a therapy session?

Excluding the intake session, therapy sessions are usually 50 minutes in length.

Is there a set agenda for my therapy sessions?

Not at all! One of the most beneficial aspects of therapy is that each session is different; we can focus on a topic as little or as much as you (the client) feels comfortable working on.

What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?

Every therapist and approach is different. We focus on finding the right fit and creating a plan that feels supportive and personalized.

Is therapy worth it?

The benefits of therapy are often gradual but long-lasting, helping you to achieve a deeper self-understanding, better manage stress and emotions, enhance your relationships, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. It offers a vital, supportive environment to address difficult life experiences and implement significant, positive changes.

Why is the initial intake session longer?

Think of the initial session as the “getting to know you” session. The purpose of this session is to help create a picture of you and the reasons you are here. During this session, we also review the consent forms, releases of information, questionnaires, and other forms that are important for your care. We understand that this session can feel challenging or scary, but we are here to support you in anyway we can and the more information we have provides us with more opportunities to assist you!

Are these sessions confidential?

Yes! Confidentiality is one of the core values of the therapeutic relationship. Within the intake packet and on request, you can receive the confidential disclosure agreement. What you share with your therapist remains confidential unless you want information to be shared with another member of your care team (with a signed and written release of information). However, very few exceptions exist, which are mandated by federal and state laws. These include: suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, vulnerable adults, and/or elders, or if we have reason to seriously suspect that the client is in danger of hurting themselves or others.
