Speech-language pathology encompasses much more than helping a child pronounce certain sounds. Speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat a wide range of communication and feeding concerns.

ATTIY's Speech & Language Therapy program also provides pediatric feeding evaluations and feeding therapy.
Feeding difficulties can involve challenges with feeding skills, chewing, swallowing, accepting different foods or textures, or participating successfully in mealtimes. A feeding evaluation can help identify areas of concern and determine whether feeding therapy may be appropriate.
When Should You Consider a Speech & Language Evaluation?
Children develop communication skills differently, and not every speech or language difference means that therapy is needed. An evaluation can help families better understand their child's development when concerns arise.
Parents and caregivers may consider speaking with a speech-language pathologist if they notice concerns such as:
- Difficulty being understood by others
- Difficulty producing certain sounds or words
- Limited vocabulary or difficulty forming sentences
- Difficulty understanding or following spoken language
- Speech that appears unusually effortful or inconsistent

Experienced Leadership for Our Speech & Language Therapy Program
ATTIY's Speech & Language Therapy program is led by Megan M. Northcutt, SLP-CCC, Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist and Program Director.
Megan brings more than a decade of pediatric experience working with children and families throughout Florida. Her clinical experience includes speech and language delays, childhood apraxia of speech, voice disorders, and other pediatric communication needs.
