Alannah Johnson, LCMHC
Psychotherapist
Every stage of life brings unique challenges, and having the right support can make all the difference. I believe counseling should be a collaborative process where clients feel accepted, encouraged, and empowered to grow at their own pace. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where individuals and families feel comfortable exploring difficult emotions, developing healthy coping skills, and building confidence for the future.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University in 2015 and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Plymouth State University in 2021. My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and young adults in educational settings, helping them navigate emotional, behavioral, academic, and social challenges while partnering with families and schools to support long-term success.
My counseling style is grounded in a person-centered approach, recognizing that every individual brings unique strengths, experiences, and goals to therapy. I place a strong emphasis on building a trusting therapeutic relationship and tailoring treatment to meet each client’s specific needs. I also enjoy incorporating creative interventions, including play and art-based strategies, to help clients express themselves in ways that feel natural, engaging, and meaningful.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, and I have a particular passion for helping clients navigate life transitions, strengthen relationships, and build resilience through difficult experiences. My work is informed by trauma-informed care and integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and attachment-based interventions to promote lasting growth and positive change.
