Asante Smalling, MSW
Registered Clincial Social Worker Intern (RCSWI)
Therapy doesn’t have to look the same every time you walk through the door. Asante believes therapy is a collaborative process and that the client’s voice should remain at the center of the work. She recognizes that life changes from day to day, and she tailors each session to what a client needs in that moment.
Some sessions may involve sorting through emotional overwhelm, identifying goals, building coping strategies, or working through conflict. Others may simply provide a space to vent, decompress, process a life change, or experience moments of release and laughter. Asante strives to create a comfortable and supportive environment where clients can show up as they are while working toward where they want to be.
Asante has outpatient experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, negative self-image, trauma, interpersonal difficulties, and significant life changes. Her approach combines genuine connection with practical, evidence-based strategies designed to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen their coping skills, and develop tools they can use beyond the therapy room.
Her work is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy and incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care based on each client’s individual needs and goals.
Asante sees clients in person in Jacksonville and through telehealth throughout Florida.
